BACH TO USHUAIA..

I can't believe how quickly time passed. Good times fly! It was a true honor to have had this journey with everyone on IAE 2015 alumni.. This expedition has touched my life in every possible way.. Thank you Sir Robert Swan and the whole team of 2041 Quark Expedition for this amazing journey we had together.

FIRST TIME HIKING IN USHUAIA

DUBAI...I CHERISH

Once you come out of Dubai you recognise how pampered and well taken care of 1 is !! We live in the highest standard in the world... We have everything we need at a snap of our finger tips .. We kind of take matters for granted ... we will always have water and we will always have electricity .. I think once you step out of this comfort life take a look at others around you.. you have to appreciate and cherish the blessings you have been given not just by saying Al Hamdolillah , God has asked us to work to believe in a purpose to truly thank him is by our unstoppable desire and actions to preserve what he gave us. In Dubai we believe in being number one .. The whole country collectively has worked towards this goal. One of the responsibilities that comes with this position we proud ourselves of pursuing is conservation .. is our inner desire to sustain and succeed using less resources .. when I started working in DEWA conservation was part of my belief system but not as today, I use my mascara to the last drop in it !! I know the process of manufacturing it must have had some effect on my planet so at least I don't want to squander it, after 3 years in DEWA and witnessing the efforts exerted for each one of us to wake up in the morning open that tap undoubtedly knowing water will run down like a river down a stream now ! My conservation value got stronger ... I must not use my washing machine from 12 till 6 PM, there's an army of unnamed soldiers working to deliver this comfort to my finger tips.This doesn't mean we take what we have been given for granted. We who live in abundance have a responsibility towards the less fortunate to the world to the planet to raise our commitment level to preserve and nurture. I chose to make a difference. And it's not about going to the end of the world, it's about our human values, our belief system this urge to be better. Make use of it, deploy it in your small daily life and you shall see wonders.

FINALLY EN ROUTE TO USHUAIA

So after this predicament I suggested we call our HR team in Dubai let them change our booking with the agency and see what will see ... truly impressed with how efficiently they managed to get us a new booking on a different airline an hour away from our original flight ... amazing effort really I want to thank Mai Al Ghafri for her prompt response and her concern to facilitate our trip absolutely amazing effort thank you Mai ...

Another issue,  Ameera from HTC,  her booking was done separate not with DEWA team ... so we had to book her a new ticket, unfortunately we couldn't find her a seat on the same flight Mai booked us ... The first spot was at 3 pm !!!! We didn't know what to do now! We can't leave her back she's too young to travel alone and her dad and mom entrusted us to take care of her ... so Taha booked her a ticket and we had to run to check in .. taha being the awesome he is stayed with her to see .. refusing to give up .. as I advised them to call her dad and her agency and thank God they got her a ticket on our flight..

USHUAIA FLIGHT... CANCELLED

The flight to Ushuaia on LAN airlines have been cancelled! So out of all the freaking days, the airline crew decided to strike and I'm losing it!

7 HRS TRANSIT IN BUENOS AIRES, JORGE NEWBERY, ARGENTINA

I can't believe it's a 7 hr transit and 3 hr flight again to Ushuaia.. I am out of energy. Our last flight is at dawn and now it's almost 1:00 AM. I can't believe this..Time is not passing. Ahhh exhausted..

ACROSS THE OCEANS TO RIO DE JANEIRO, GALEAO

A FLASH BACK BEFORE DEPARTING FROM DUBAI

So as I leave my house in total hurry to run to the printing shop to get my beloved ones collaged, I missed my neck pillow and didn't remember till I was half way to airport already.
I was disappointed a Lil bit that not all the pictures could fit in the collage and the printing guy tried several times with no luck .. to be honest I couldn't check pic by pic but he told me he couldn't fit the 112 photos in one frame ... anyways it was a late idea to be executed and it took a great deal of time to get the photo of everyone I love without them asking why why why as if I need their pictures to forge an identity.

As we drove by to the airport my heart was beating loud I could hear it ... I looked to Walid my husband in awe and said "I don't feel it yet, it didn't hit me" sort of I am still in denial that on this quest I am actually heading to the end of the world to the great wildness, the furthest I've been was Thailand!!! The land of smiles !! I am used to my husband frequent travels, I normally handle his absence well .. I SLEEP ! but this has to be the first time I am leaving my home alone, and not going to my other home back in Egypt the center of the world .. As much as I am excited as much as I am anxious! I can't wait to lay my eyes on Antarctica...

Had a bit of action in the airport where Taha went to pray and we nearly missed the flight .. Lucky
I was boarding with the guys from Emirates business lounge (I was still sitting in the economy class though ehee). Abdullah figured we r not sitting next to each other and tried to switch seats with the nun sitting next to me offering her his aisle seat but she refused! !! Was not much disappointed as I normally like to spend my time flying sleeping or reading and I knew there ain't much we can do or joke around about! He is hilarious though tried to bribe her.. hehe
After 2 hrs Taha came to exchange places with me ... man that business class bed is all that I need now ... I stayed there for 3 hrs then headed back to find Taha totally asleep. I told him go man sleep there .. I took the pill Adel gave me and bouuff within 15 mins I was gone sleeping like a baby in a shoes box ! The guys around us are drinking the hours away I am so close to just take whatever will ease the trip ...

When I was almost 8 hrs away from our first destination Rio ... Samba Dejani lol ... I stretched a bit and let's see.. I feel I am a crazy pop corn my ears r popping :)

LIVE ON AIR

Reporting to you live from across the ocean The flight seems like forever I can't watch movies. I feel people around me are sick coughing and I'm trying to spray them with my secret magic bottle.
A mix of personal care Dettole and water to keep the germs away. This small bottle from Daiso has come in handy for using the plane toilet as I never use public bathrooms without wet wipes and Dettole.

We are 3 hours away from Rio still ... We will be there for a transit for almost 2 hrs then we fly to BA. We will have 7 hrs in BA before going to Newbery airport to go to Ushuaia ... again 3 hrs flight!
